Obituary of Dorothy Langford Cook

Mrs. Dorothy Langford Cook, age 87, of Ariton, died Tuesday evening, April 10, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, April 14, 2012, from Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church with Reverend Charles Langford and Reverends Greg and Anita Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church from 9:30 A. M. until service time. Mrs. Cook was born April 9, 1925 in Dale County to the late George Verbie Langford and Velma Fralish Langford. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, and had worked with Judy Bond Mfg. Co. in Ozark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Jerry Cook in 1994. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Jack Harden of Brundidge;one son, Jerry Bruce Cook of Ariton; one sister, Marie Agerton of Ariton;two brothers and sisters-in-law, Reverend Charles and Carolyn Langford of Phenix City, Carl and Carol Langford of Ohio; three grandsons, Jerald and Susan Cook of Ariton, Jeff and Amie Cook of Enterprise, David Harden of Brundidge;two granddaughters, Allison and Chuck Peacock of Ariton, Kim Maund of Ariton; ten great grandchildren, Jenni Cook, Ashlyn Cook, Peyton Cook, Jay Cook, Brodie Cook, Preston Maund, Jeb Maund, Sara Maund, Molly Maund, Bailey Peacock;and her aunt, Sarah Ezell. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends also survive.
