Mr. Howard Parrish, Jr., age 82, of Ozark, died Monday, July 28, 2008, in Flowers Hospital. Memorial services were held for Mr. Parrish in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. It was his desire to donate his body to medical science. Mr. Parrish was born January 20, 1926 in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Helen Winter Parrish and Howard Parrish, Sr. Mr. Parrish served in the United States Air Corps during World War II, moving to Ozark in 1955 to assume management and operations of radio station WOZK. He served in that capacity until his retirement in 2000. He also managed WDHN television station in Dothan, creating the viable station it is today. During his working years in Ozark, Mr. Parrish was active in various civic clubs and organizations. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jane Blankenship Parrish of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law; Penny and George Welch; three grandchildren, Amy Elizabeth Welch, Daniel Ewart Welch, and Emily Anne Welch all of Pamplin, Virginia.
