Obituary of Marwood Weed Cooper

Mrs. Marwood Weed Cooper, age 93, of Ozark, died Thursday night, May 15, 2008 in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 4:00 P. M. Sunday, May 18, 2008, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Greg Aman and Reverend William Cannon officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday afternoon from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M., otherwise they will be at her daughters home. Mrs. Cooper was born September 8, 1914 in Ariton to the late George Grover Weed and Augusta Wynn Weed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Colvie Cooper, and her brother, Ray Weed. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Jack Stokes of Ozark; her son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Mary Cooper of Ozark; her sister-in-law, Margaret Weed of Lilburn, Georgia; five grandchildren, Jackie and Marcie Stokes of Ozark, Steve and Beth Stokes of Ozark, Greg and Kim Stokes of Charlotte, North Carolina, Daniel and Jana Cooper of Dothan, Gwen and Mike Smith of Dothan; seven great grandchildren, Kelli DeWitt of Ozark, Tara and Jody Hughes of Ozark, Dustin Stokes of Ozark, Natalie and Chris Barefield of Birmingham, Justin and Jessica Smith of Dothan, Cole Bryant of Ozark, and Marissa Smith of Dothan; six great great grandchildren, Kaitlin Elizabeth Glover, Blake and Blaine DeWitt, Emmaline Hughes, Bryson Hughes, and Alex Bryant.Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street - Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
