Obituary of Vivian Jean Provin

Vivian Jean "Dixie" Provin, of Ozark and formerly of Enterprise, passed away on February 15, 2009, after a courageous, hard fought battle with cancer. Vivian was born September 23, 1931 in Wilmington, Delaware. Graveside services will be held at Meadowlawn Memorial Park in Enterprise on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 3:00 P. M., Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Vivian enjoyed life to the fullest and took great pride in her enthusiastic patriotism and love for America. She was talented in many areas including singing, writing, and organizing volunteer projects, but was most proud of her work as a Link Instructor at Ft. Rucker for Ross Aviation in the 1960's, a nurse at Dr. James Grimes Medical Clinic in Enterprise, a nurse at Enterprise Nursing Home, plant nurse at ConAgra and ER Nurse at Lyster Army Hospital where she retired in 1997. She truly loved her relationships with fellow employees and patients. She considered it an honor to work side by side with military personnel. She also thoroughly enjoyed her retirement years as a Wal Mart greeter where she looked forward each day to seeing friends and fellow employees. She was preceded in death by her beloved Aunt Bert (Bertha Spedden), Uncle John (John Spedden) and grandson Lucas Wilson. Survivors include the father of her children Richard Earl Provin, two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Sammy Judah of Ozark, and Carolyn and Bobby Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Sam Judah, Vivian JoAnn "Jenna" Judah, Marcus Taylor, Bryan Wilson, John Wilson, Susan Wilson, and Sara Wilson; great-grandchildren, Marcus Taylor, Jr., Matthew Taylor, Deja Wilson, and Christopher Wilson. Her family wishes to express gratitude to her caregivers at Providence Assisted Living Facility, Ozark Health and Rehabilitation, and Dale Medical Center Staff.
