Obituary of Charles R. Owen

Mr. Charles Richard Owen, age 84, of Ozark, died Monday morning, March 14, 2011, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Thursday, March 17, 2011, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert and Reverend Dr. Jason Thrower officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mr. Owen was born December 19, 1926 in Oklahoma to the late Richard Owen and Gussie Frances Mitchell Owen Bracken. He lived most of his adult life in Illinois where he worked with the Caterpillar Corporation and then as an auditor with the State of Illinois until his retirement. He and his late Mother moved to Ozark in 1990 where he was a member of The First United Methodist Church of Ozark and the John Wesley Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Sul Sun Bracken of Ozark;
one niece, Frances Cornelus;
three nephews, Richard Bracken, Everett Bracken, and Jimmie Bracken.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, 167 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
