Obituary of Broaden Evander Maloy

Mr. Broaden Evander “Moose” Maloy, 85, of Ozark, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at his home. A memorial service for Mr. Maloy will be held at 3:00 P. M. Saturday, September, 27, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Private interment will be at a later date in Antioch Cemetery in Crenshaw County. Full Military Honors will be rendered following the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday following the service. Mr. Maloy was born February 24, 1929 in Crenshaw County, Alabama to the late Charlie Green Maloy and Pearl Mae Prescott Maloy. He was a retiree of the United States Navy following his service during World War II on the USS Midway in the Pacific Theater. He loved being on the water. He was a good old Alabama boy who was as patriotic as they come. To all the kids he was Papa Moose. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one step-daughter, Margaret Ann Brown; one step-son, James Stephen Wilson; one grandchild, Beami Taylor; and one sister, Virginia Davis. Survivors include his wife, Wilda Billie Carter Maloy of Ozark; two daughters and one son-in-law, LaWanda and Fred Grill of Enterprise, Lynn Johnson of Goshen; three sons and daughters-in-law, Nic and Trisha Becton of Prentiss, Mississippi, Gary and Ronaliza Belch of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Ron and Deronda Becton of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, Michael Grill, Leslie Cook (John), Chris Tolard (Raven), Ben Becton (Allison), Brycen Becton (Amanda), Brennan Becton, Michael Belch (Larena), Chris Belch (Tanya), Elizabeth Hanz (Paul), Andreo Belch, Garona Belch, Ed Belch, Marliza Belch, Lolita Belch, Joe Becton, Jennifer Becton, Kim Georges, and Jody Fortenberry (Danielle); great grandchildren, Ava Grill, Juliette Grill, Elijah Grill, Abi Cook, Tyranny Toland, Avalyn Becton, Hailey Belch, Jacob Belch, Winston Belch, Nakita Belch, Joely Becton, Cole Becton, Julianna Becton, Brooklyn Georges, Wyatt Lee, and Gage Taylor; special niece and nephew, Paulette Goodson and Kenneth Davis. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, 2740 Headland Avenue, Dothan, AL 36303; or Hillcrest Baptist Church of Ozark, 246 Church Avenue, Ozark, AL 36360. Service Information
