Mr. James H. Helms, age 69, of Blue Springs, died Sunday morning, August 27, 2006 in Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Tuesday, August 29, 2006, from Spring Hill Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Hassell officiating, interment will follow in the Church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be at Spring Hill Baptist Church from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Monday evening. Mr. Helms was a native of Louisville. He served in the United States Army and then worked for 27 years at 3rd Army Headquarters, Forces Command at Ft. McPherson, Georgia until his retirement. He had worked at Fort Rucker prior to joining 3rd Army Headquarters. He was a member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife: Anita Knight Helms, Blue Springs, two sons and their wives: Bill and Susanna Helms, Ozark; Barry and Nicole Helms, Winder, Georgia, his sister: Mary Evelyn Davis, Richmond, Kentucky, six grandchildren: Kelcey, Dylan, Matthew, Cody, Dalton and Makena Helms, one niece: Kathy Marshall, Richmond, Kentucky. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to the American Lung Association, 3125 Independence Drive, Suite 325, Birmingham, Alabama 35209.
