Obituary of James Arthur Johnson

Mr. James Arthur Johnson, age 70, of Newton, died Saturday afternoon, January 22, 2011, in the Huntsville Hospital.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P. M. Wednesday, January 26, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Terry Howard officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M.
Mr. Johnson was born January 31, 1940 in Newton to the late Ewell William Johnson and Sybil Loraine Moore Johnson. He served in the United States Air Force and retired from the Air National Guard following 20 years of service. Mr. Johnson worked with Eastern Airlines in Miami, returned to Newton and worked with Hayes Aircraft and then at Fort Rucker in aircraft maintenance until his retirement.
Survivors include one brother and sister-in-law, Allen Kenneth and Levene Johnson of Newton;
one sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and John Kavanaugh, Jr. of Madison, Alabama;
three nephews, Allen Johnson of Newton, Greg Johnson of Enterprise, and John W. Kavanaugh, V of Boston,Mass. ;
and one niece, Amanda Kavanaugh of Florence, Alabama.
Four great nieces also survive.
