Obituary of Billy Ray Rogers

Mr. Billy Ray Rogers, Sr., age 79, of Ozark, died Sunday, June 12, 2011 in Dale Medical Center. We'll always remember our dad and papa. There'll never be anyone that can replace you in our hearts. You have shaped so many lives with your wisdom and kindness. We are so proud to have you as our dad and papa. We thank you for sharing your life with us. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, June 18, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Keener Batchelor and Reverend Billy R. Rogers, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P.M. Mr. Rogers was born June 24, 1931 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Emanuel A. Rogers and Mable Walker Rogers. He served in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen Palmer Rogers; and two sisters, Corene Miller and Nellie Casey; three brothers, Allen Rogers, Johnnie Mack Rogers, and Don Rogers. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Robert Young of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy R. Rogers, Jr. and Sharon of Nampa, Idaho, Garry Wayne and Gayla Rogers of Orangevale, California; two sisters, Maxine Wood and May Opal Munn; one brother, Fred Rogers all of Ozark; eight grandchildren, Justy Rogers, Alicia Starmer, Stephanie Starmer-Metzger (David), Adam Starmer, Robbie Young, Kyndra Young, Rachelle (Eric) Underwood, and Rebekah (Caleb) Nunley.
