Obituary of Janis Jordan Black

Mrs. Janis Jordan Black, age 65, of Ozark, died Monday evening, March 28, 2011, in Oakview Manor Nursing Facility.
A memorial service for Mrs. Black will be held at 10:00 A. M. Saturday, April 2, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service.
Mrs. Black was born November 16, 1945 in Troy, Alabama to the late Jefferson David and Durah Lee Edward Jordan. She worked for over twenty years with Joshton Manufacturing in Tuscaloosa, Memphis, Phenix City, and Bakersville, California. She worked with GTE in Ozark and was a member of the Ozark Church of Christ. Her cats were her special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Lavon Jordan and Aaron "Rusty" Stanley Jordan.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Cecil Pyle of Ozark;
two nieces, Thersa Larson and Tiffany Jordan; and two nephews, David Elliott and Bobby Jordan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vivian B. Adams School, 2047 Stewart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to the Alzheimer's Resource Center, P. O. Box 1170, Dothan, Alabama 36302.
