Obituary of Harper Jack Jackson

Mr. Harper Jack Jackson, age 85, of Ariton, died Monday, June 20, 2011, in Noland Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:30 A. M. Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend William B. Easterling officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Brundidge, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 9:30 A. M. until service time. Mr. Jackson was born April 26, 1926 in Ariton to the late Adam Harper Jackson and Vassie Carolyn Browning Jackson. He served in the United States Army during World War II, and taught school in Ponce DeLeon, Florida, Echo, Pinckard, and Ariton High School where he retired in 1981. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry Jackson and Carroll Jackson. Survivors include a special friend, Annah Thomas of Geneva; one sister, Nell J. Jones of Ariton; a special sister-in-law, Gloria Jackson of Ozark. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ariton Rescue Squad, P. O.
