Obituary of Retha Nell Sellers

Mrs. Retha Nell Sellers, age 86, of Newton, died Monday evening, November 15, 2010, in Noland Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, November 18, 2010, from Newton United Methodist Church with Reverend Joseph Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday to celebrate the life of Retha Nell Sellers. Mrs. Sellers was born November 13, 1924 in the Echo Community to the late Needham Pascal Riley and Jessie Pearl Riley. She was a homemaker and a member of Newton United Methodist Church. She worked with her late husband in Sellers Hog Farm for twenty years, and also with Sellers Small Engines in Newton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Randol Sellers, Jr.; two sisters, Mary Ida Belcher and Kathleen Adams; two brothers, Kyle Riley and Irby Riley; and a special friend, Cullen Barefield of the Bertha Community. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and William Odom of Sumter, South Carolina; two sons and daughters-in-law, William Randol "Randy" Sellers, III and Laura of Ashford, Steven Pascal "Pat" Sellers and Terri of Newton; eight grandchildren, Dusty Chavis, Jada Starling, Hunter Sellers, Jared Sellers, Justin Sellers, Steven Odom, Brittany Miller, and Staci Peterson. Eight great grandchildren also survive. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Newton United Methodist Church, 209 East King Street, Newton, Alabama 36352. Service Information
