Obituary of James Mark Keirn

Mr. James Mark Keirn, age 63, of Ozark, died early Wednesday morning, October 13, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, October 15, 2010, at Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Brian Pitts officiating. His body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Friday. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Thursday.
Mr. Keirn was born February 23, 1947 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to the late James D. and Doris S. Keirn. He was a 1970 graduate of Auburn University and a member of the Delta-Chi Fraternity. Mr. Keirn was a member of Ozark Baptist Church. He was employed with the State of Alabama Employment Service where he helped many people gain employment for over thirty years until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was an avid Auburn fan. Most important to him were his grandchildren. He would skip a golf date and drive a thousand miles for five minutes with his babies.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Stevenson Keirn of Ozark;
one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and Jamie DeLamar of Opelika;
one sister, Christy Wilcox of Panama City Beach, Florida;
one brother, Dean Keirn of Ozark;
three grandchildren, Raley Morris, Paxton and Landon DeLamar of Opelika.
