Obituary of Imogene Moseley Parker

Mrs. Imogene Moseley Parker of Ozark, went to be with her Lord and God on October 26, 2009. She was 102. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Tuesday, October 27, 2009 from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend William Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Post Oak Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church from 1:00 P. M. until service time. Mrs. Parker was born October 16, 1907 in Dale County near Ozark, the youngest child of Mary Bannie Dillard Moseley and William Henry Moseley. She graduated from Dale County High School in Ozark, May 1925, and from Alabama State Teachers College in Troy on June 2, 1931 with a degree in elementary education. Mrs. Parker taught in the Dale County Schools, Wilson for two years, Rocky Head for two years, Pleasant Grove for four years, Camp Ground for one year, and one summer was given to Adult Education. She married Elmer Ray Parker in 1935 and settled in Dale County where they raised two sons. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Cora Lee Moseley; four brothers and their wives, Henry Luther and Lois Moseley, Lewis Crawford and Helen Moseley, Ralph and Ruth Moseley, and Malcomb and Mattie Moseley. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Elmer Stanley and Linda Parker of Ozark, and William Glenn and Rebecca Parker of Montgomery; one granddaughter and her husband, Liesl and Stephen Strength of Ozark; one grandson and his wife, Alan Sanford and Christina Parker of Ozark; one great granddaughter, Taylor Rae Strength of Ozark; two great grandsons, Brady Matthew Strength and David Andrew Parker of Ozark; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Bannie Nell Parker Weeks; Three nieces and six nephews also survive.
