Obituary of Mae Witt Mixon

Mae Witt Mixon, age 88, of Albemarle , N. C., formally of Ozark, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 in Charlotte, N.C. following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M., June 1, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Interment will follow in Morningview Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 9:30 A.M. until service time.
Mrs. Mixon was born December 6, 1922 in Ozark to the late Oscar and Ollie Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Preston Burette Mixon, Jr. A sparklle in her eyes, always with a smile on her face and kind words coming forth. To have met her was to adore her. At age 88, she was still a Southern Bell, putting on make-up though despite near blindness and wearing stylish fashions daily. Her legacy was her kindness. A resident at Spring Arbor of Albemarle...it did not take long for her to earn the title of "Princess". She will be missed.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Byrne Stewart of Fort Worth, Texas, Rosemary and A. J. Blankenship of Mt. Gilead, North Carolina;
one sister, Dorothy Morgan Young, Dothan;
and nieces, Gail Pearson Watson, Dothan, Catherine Mixon Kingsley, Ozark, Mrs. Marcella Mixon Moreau, Fairfax Station, Va., Dottie Jeffries, Versailles, Ky., Vicki Morgan Marley, Pottstown, Pa.; and nephew, David Morgan of Niceville, Fl;
five grandchildren, Ty Prim, Birmingham, Trent Prim, Fort Worth, Tx. Trey Prim, Kailua, Hawai, Misty Polk, Albemarle, N.C., and Kelly Williams, Norwood, N.C.
great grandchildren,Virginia and Sam Prim, Fort Worth, Tx. Ashley and Addison Williams, Norwood, N.C. and Zoey Belle Polk, Albemarle, N.C.
Honary pallbearers were; Ty & Trent Prim, Byrne Stewart, A.J. Blankenship, Ken Polk, Clint Williams, and John Holman Watson
