Obituary of Bobby Joe Parrish

Mr. Bobby Joe Parrish, age 77, of Ozark, passed away Friday evening, October 4, 2013, in Flowers Hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Monday, October 7, 2013, from the First United Methodist Church in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert and Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Mr. Parrish was born May 18, 1936 in Dale County, Alabama to the late Charlie Henry Parrish and Elizabeth Lunette Hawkins. He graduated from Auburn University in 1958 with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering. Mr. Parrish was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark. He worked with Civil Service for thirty-six years until his retirement in 1994 as a Safety Officer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, John Tillman Parrish and Alice Helms Parrish, and their daughter, Susan Betts. Survivors include his wife Dorothy Brannon Parrish of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Pam and David Hennessey; his granddaughters, Caroline and Claire Hennessey all of Auburn; his great niece, Elizabeth Betts, and his great nephew, Bobby Betts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, 167 East Broad Street , Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to the charity of your choice. Service Information
