Obituary of William Earl McLendon

Mr. William Earl McLendon, Jr., 72, of Ozark, died Friday, April 10, 2015, at his home. Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Monday, April 13, 2015, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark with Reverend Hosea Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 3:00 P. M. until 5:00 P. M. Mr. McLendon was born February 8, 1943 in Albany, Georgia to the late William Earl “Mac” McLendon and Merle Parr McLendon. He worked as an aircraft mechanic with various aircraft maintenance contractors at Fort Rucker. He enjoyed working on the apache helicopter and was an avid fisherman and hunter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Thomley McLendon in 2011. Survivors include one daughter, Kimberly Bell of Ozark; one granddaughter, Jamie Nicole and Jack Thatcher of Carthage, NY; two great grandchildren, Savannah and Madison Thatcher of Carthage, NY; one sister and brother-in-law, Linda Ellen and Ken Mauser of Sarasota, Florida.
