Obituary of Thurman Allen Herring

Mr. Thurman Allen Herring, 68, of Louisville, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. A family memorial service for Mr. Herring will be held at 3:00 P. M. Sunday, October 4, 2015, at the Herring Family Farm in Louisville with full Military Honors to be rendered by the United States Air Force Honor Guard, Reverend Randy Adams officiating, Holman Funeral Home and Cremations of Ozark directing. Mr. Herring was born March 9, 1947 in Barbour County, Alabama to the late Therman Asker Herring and Gladys Elizabeth Johns Herring. He served in the United States Air Force for twenty two years, retiring in 1990. He was a graduate of Wallace Technical School and Chauncy Sparks Technical School. He enjoyed his farm as his pride and joy. Mr. Herring was an avid Troy University football supporter. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Beasley Herring; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Greg and Candi Herring, Russell Herring all of Louisville; one sister, Joan Herring of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Raegan Herring and Kennedy Herring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to Calvary Assembly of God Church Building Fund, 415 County Road 8, Clio, AL 36017; or to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL 36303.
