Mr. Harold Eugene Sharp, age 80, of Ozark, died Sunday evening, February 5, 2012, at his home. A memorial service will be held for Mr. Sharp at 6:00 P. M. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Brother Peter Brent and Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Sharp was born June 23, 1931 in Marlington, West Virginia to the late Dorsey and Clara Sharp. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of Wallace Hughston Masonic Lodge #1393 in El Paso, TX. He owned and operated Sharp's Locksmith Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Newton "Dusty" Despain; one sister, Janet Gurd; and two brothers, Joe Sharp and Jerry Sharp. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nellie D. Sharp of Ozark; four daughters and sons-in-law, Rebecca and Don Taylor, Carol and Bobby Nelson, Donna and Bobby Dixon, Jeannie and Edwin Vasquez; two sons, Harold E. Sharp, Jr. and Phillip Sharp; grandchildren, Joshua and Moranda Despain, Jason Despain, Michelle Gouge, Alicia and Brad Dawkins, Gary Gouge, Jr., Jennifer and Daniel Pearson, Morgan McClellan, Alexia Vasquez, Lilly Vasquez, Taylor and Jordan Sharp, Lara Burt; great grandchildren, Austin and Kaddan Sitz, Briana, Cody and Ashley Kelly, Clara Grace Stokes; brothers and sisters, Roy Sharp, Dee and Kenny Rose, Sue and Ricky Terrell, Carolyn and Charlie Bogan; special brothers-in-law, Bill Gurd, Horacio and Maria Delgado; special sister-in-law, Mary and Loran Wilson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P. O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, Alabama 36302; or to The American Heart Association.
