Obituary of Murray S. Snellgrove

Mr. Murray Stricklin Snellgrove, age 67, of Ozark, died Thursday, January 7, 2010, at his home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, January 10, 2010, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Randy Taylor officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Saturday. Mr. Snellgrove was born November 21, 1942 in Coffee County to the late Stricklin "Strick" and Mary Kate Johnston Snellgrove. He had lived in Ozark since 1957, graduated from Carroll High School, and retired from Pemco following 33 years of employment. Mr. Snellgrove was a member of Southside Baptist Church and was active in the cattle business. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Fran Snellgrove Parker, and one brother, Mack Snellgrove. Survivors include his wife, Elaine Ward Snellgrove of Ozark; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Chris Wilson of Ariton, Rebecca and Chad Stewart of Enterprise, and Tammy Hill of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Hannah Wilson, Cate Stewart, Ann Presley Stewart, Bo Stewart, Ryan Wilson, Lacey Wilson, and Morgan Jordan; one brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Kay Snellgrove of Ozark; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, DeWitt and Sandra Perrett of Montgomery. Three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
