Obituary of Jimmy L. Roberts

Mr. Jimmy L. Roberts, age 76, of Clio, died Thursday evening, February 24, 2011, in Noland Hospital.
Funeral services will be graveside at 2:00 P. M. Sunday, February 27, 2011, in New Hope Congregational Cemetery in Clio with Reverend William B. Easterling and Reverend Robert Foreman officiating. Interment will follow with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mr. Roberts was born September 13, 1934 in Barbour County to the late James Alexander "Alex" Roberts and Lola Belle Thompson Roberts. He was an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman. He enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labor with his neighbors. Mr. Roberts was a member of The Cattleman's Association and was involved in re-forestation and conservation. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Holman Roberts, Tillman Roberts, Pate Roberts, Jerome Roberts, Perry Roberts, Pat Roberts, and Hoover Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Pelham Roberts of Clio;
one daughter, Dr. Kimberly Roberts of Atlanta;
two sisters, Marie Carr of Abbeville and Mildred Smith of Ozark.
