Obituary of Earl Joseph Landry

Mr. Earl Joseph Landry, Jr. age 62, of Newton, died Tuesday evening, December 2, 2008 in Flowers Hospital following a long illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, December 5, 2008, from Logan Road Baptist Church with Reverend Charles Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow in Newton City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Landry's body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mr. Landry was born January 25, 1946 in Morgan City, Louisiana to the late Earl Joseph Landry, Sr. and Elodie Aucoin Landry. He moved to Ozark in 1999 and to Newton in 2000. He had worked in computer programming and was employed as a Materiel Clerk with Army Fleet Support at Fort Rucker in the main warehouse. Mr. Landry was very involved with his hobby of genealogy and was a member of the Logan Road Baptist Church. He will be missed by his family and his dog, Petey. In addition to his father, Mr. Landry was preceded in death by one sister, Drena Hinkle. Survivors include his wife of nine years, Debra Alexander Landry of Newton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Tracy and Jason McCleary of Lafayette, Louisiana, Terra Landry and Lynn Lipari of Morgan City, Louisiana, and Daisia Loyless of Dothan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Delaine Landry of Bowling Green, Ohio, David and Jene` Loyless of Midland City; one adopted daughter, Heather Moore of Dothan; his Mother, Elodie (Dee) Landry of Berwick, Louisiana; one sister and brother-in-law, Rose and David Picou of Morgan City, Louisiana; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Sherwin and Ramona Landry of Hanahan, South Carolina, Tab and Terrie Landry of Tomball, Texas; father-in-law, Charles and Billie Hunter, Sr. of Philadelphia, Mississippi; mother-in-law, Jean Vickers of Midland City; sisters-in-law, Cindy Sellers of Midland City, Betty and Ricky Meeks of Ozark, Teresa and Mike Boutwell of Brandon, Mississippi; brother-in-law, Charles and Janice Hunter, Jr. of Brandon, Mississippi; the Mother of his children, Rickie Landry of Bayou Vista, Louisiana; eleven grandchildren, Kaitlin Landry, Gwen Landry, Maggie Landry, Shanon Wade, Ryan Wade, Colleen Gros, Kalie Thompson, Lexie Rybiski, Peyton Loyless, Hope Loyless, and Faith Loyless. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Logan Road Baptist Church, 3955 Will Logan Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Serving as pallbearers will be Ricky Meeks, Tommy Bright, Heith Sherrer, Jeff Sherrer, Robert Smith, and Charles Zeigler. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan and Shanon Jude, Josh and Aaron Meeks.
