Obituary of Lois Marie Robinson

Mrs. Lois Marie Gary Robinson, age 59, of Ozark, died Friday, August 26, 2011, at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, August 30, 2011, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert and Reverend Dr. Jason Thrower officiating. The family will receive friends in the church Tuesday from 9:00 A. M. until service time. Mrs. Robinson was born December 9, 1951 in San Marcos, Texas. She moved to Dothan in 1955, and to Savannah, Georgia, then returning to Dothan. She graduated from Troy University in 1973 with a degree in Special Education, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Mrs. Robinson began teaching at Thompkins Elementary School in Ozark and then taught at Mixon Elementary School in Ozark, retiring in 2004. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, the United Methodist Women, and taught the special needs class. She was preceded in death by her father, Perry Lee Gary. Survivors include her husband, Tony Robinson of Ozark; one daughter and son-in-law, Tara Ann and Chas Kirkwood of Virginia Beach, Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, Jon Derek and Jessica Robinson of Dothan; her mother, Ella Hilbritch Gary of Dothan; one grandson, William Lee Robinson of Dothan; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Bernadine and Tim Flanagan, and Cindy Litzi all of Dothan, one brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Kim Gary of Dothan. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, Scholarship Fund, 167 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Service Information
