Mazie Vivian King O'Steen died Thursday morning, July 30, 2009, in the Cornerstone Hospice House, The Villages, Florida, following an extended illness. She was 80 years old. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 2, 2009, in the chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Saturday afternoon. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Hospice, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, Florida 32162, (352) 751-3150. Mrs. O'Steen was born January 17, 1929, in Wytheville, VA, to the late Issaic Washington King and Lucinda Amanda Cagle King. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, CW3 USA Mark Steven O'Steen and twin infant daughters, Donna and Rebecca as well as the father of her children, Patrick Henry O'Steen, Sr., MSG USA Retired. Surviving family include her sons, James Michael O'Steen and wife, June Andrews O'Steen of The Villages, Florida, David Allen O'Steen, LTC, USA Ret, and wife Rhonda Hendricks O'Steen of Lorton, VA, Patrick Henry O'Steen, Jr., of The Villages, FL, and a daughter Janice Elaine O'Steen Freidhof and husband Barry Freidhof, MSG, USA Ret, of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, James M. O'Steen, Jr. of Ballwin, MO, Kathy O'Steen Dodgen and husband Tom Dodgen of Auburn, AL, Rebecca Carol O'Steen Bensema of Ozark, AL, Alyssa O'Steen Cornett and husband Brian Cornett, MSG, USA Ret of Enterprise, AL, Wendy O'Steen Peterson of Dallas, GA, Amanda O'Steen Hoskins and husband Jacob Hoskins, Capt USMC of Abu Dhabi, UAE, April Freidhof Smith and husband Neal Smith of Atlanta, GA, Shawn Freidhof of Denver, CO, and Brittney O'Steen of Enterprise, AL; 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandson and her mother-in-law, Minnie Jackson O'Steen of Gadsden, AL, and her brother, James King of Louisa, VA and sister, Louella King Willard of Crockett, VA and other loved relatives.
