Obituary of Nettie Louise Shafer

Mrs. Nettie Louise Shafer, 80, of Ozark, died Thursday, September 6, 2012, in Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Saturday, September 8, 2012, from Post Oak Baptist Church with Reverend Matthew Wright and Reverend Peter Brent officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Saturday at the church one hour prior to service time.
Mrs. Shafer was born April 1, 1932 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Louis Herbert Frye, Sr. and Lillie Irene Roach Frye. She moved to Ozark in 2009 to live with her son. Mrs. Shafer was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and enjoyed working with the children's groups. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Lynn Shafer.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Mike and Denise Shafer of Ozark, John David Shafer of Chattanooga; five sisters, Ruth Frye, Helen Smith, Mary Pendergrass, Judy Whisenant, and Mae Brunyer all of Chattanooga; two brothers, Bobby Frye of East Ridge, Tennessee, and Louis H. Frye, Jr. of Chattanooga; four grandchildren, Tiffany Nichole Shafer, Amy Nichole Yoakom, Jeremy John Mackey, and Michael Lamar Shafer, Jr. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
