Obituary of Myra Nell Smith

Mrs. Myra Nell McDaniel Smith, of Brown's Cross Roads, Ozark, Alabama, met her Lord and Savior in the air and was ushered into Heaven on Friday, February, 24, 2012.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, February 28, 2012, from Corinth Freewill Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Miller and Mr. Blake Smith, her grandson, officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P.M. Serving as pallbearers will be, Clint Smith, Rod Cude, Tony Mallory, Patrick Mallory, William Culpepper, and John Mallory.
Mrs. Smith was born April 12, 1935 at Brown's Cross Roads. She worked at Van Heusen for 25 years and Sony Products for 20 years before retiring in 2001. She was a long time member of Corinth Freewill Baptist Church of Midland City and loved being with her friends there. She was much loved by her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She was preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon C. Smith; her parents, Howard and Ruth McDaniel; and a sister, Annice Bright.
Survivors include her daughters, Margie Smith Haynes (Henry) of Dothan, Sue Brown (Scott) of Brown's Cross Roads; a son, Mark A. Smith of Brown's Cross Roads; other children, Larry S. Smith (Phyllis) of Dothan, Terry Smith (Lyn) of Knoxville, Tennessee; step-daughter, Charlene Ferrell of Glen Isle, Annapolis, Maryland;
grandchildren, Leslie Haynes Cude (Rod) of Birmingham, Brooke Haynes Floyd (Tim) of Dothan, Gunner Miller of Dothan, Clint Smith (Angie) of Brown's Cross Roads, Blake Smith (Megan) of Montgomery, Melissa Bowman of Dothan, and Michelle Saliba of Dothan; great grandchildren, Briggs and Max Cude of Birmingham, Hudson and Eli Floyd of Dothan, Jessica and Samantha Smith of Brown's Cross Roads, Emma Kate, Maddie, Lily Smith of Montgomery, Garrett, Emily, and Kendall Bowman of Dothan, Conner, Eli, Caitlin Saliba of Dothan; sisters and brother, Shirley Braswell (Foster) of Panama City, Florida, Joan Mallory (John) of Newville, and Raymond McDaniel of Ozark. Several nieces, nephews, and many cousins and their children also survive.
