Mr. Searcy was a native of Houston County. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II in the First Division, the Big Red One, during the Battle of the Bulge, retiring following 21 years of service. He was employed with Judy Bond Manufacturing Company in Ozark for 15 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon Emeritus. He was an active member of the Gideons International, Ozark Charter.
