Obituary of Robert Morris McSween

Mr. Robert Morris McSween, age 64, of Newton, died Saturday morning, June 9, 2012, in Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Tuesday, June 12, 2012, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Moses Coleman officiating. Interment will follow, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mr. McSween was born February 3, 1948 in Dothan to the late Joe Morris and Addie Kirkland McSween. He grew up in Newton, attended the Newton School System, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery. Mr. McSween worked with Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) retiring following 28 years of service. He began working for AAFES as an Accountant and retired as a General Manager, traveling all over the world opening PX facilities. Mr. McSween was a kind man who came from a loving home. He had planted pine trees at his home and along Dale County Road 71 in Newton. He enjoyed working on cars and was an avid Auburn football fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Adam McSween who was killed in action in Iraq in 2007.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Mella McHellon McSween of Newton;
one daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Travis Steed of Tampa, Florida;
two sons, Robert Morris McSween, II of Las Vegas, Nevada and Kyle McSween of Valdosta, Georgia;
three step-daughters, Janet Brown, Marion Watson, and Yolanda Smith;
two special nephews who were caregivers, Keshawn Jackson and Tony Brown.
Thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of cousins also survive.
