Obituary of James Earl Etheredge

Mr. James Earl Etheredge, age 73, of Ozark, died Saturday morning, May 3, 2014, in Flowers Hospital following a brief fight with cancer.
Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Monday, May 5, 2014, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Tom Skeen officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home from 12:30 P. M. until service time. Otherwise visitors will be received at the home of Jimmy and Joyce Jones, 1164 County Road 238, Ozark, AL 36360.
Mr. Etheredge was born December 30, 1940 in Dale County to the late A P Etheredge and Lena Murl Chambers Etheredge. He was a member of Mabson United Methodist Church and worked with Farm Best Dairy for many years before retiring from ACCI at Ft. Rucker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dewey Etheredge.
Mr. Etheredge is survived by his wife of 55 years, Madge Simmons Etheredge; daughters, Cindy (Bobby) Ward and Joyce (Jimmy) Jones; sons, Steve (Connie) Etheredge and Keith Etheredge; sisters, Ruth Tharpe, Mavis (Wilton) Outlaw, Kitty (Dennis) Harding; brothers, Wes (Terri) Etheredge and David (Elaine) Etheredge; grandchildren, Christy (David) Claassen, Lauren (Ian) Van Abel, Jordan Jones, Trent Etheredge, Ashley Etheredge, Hunter Etheredge, and Seth Etheredge; and great-grandchildren, Gavin and Reagan Van Abel.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in memory of Earl Etheredge
to Marley Mill Volunteer Fire Department, C/O Raymond Watson, 682 North County Road 21, Ozark, AL 36360.
