Obituary of Sarah Wilson Hamner

Mrs. Sarah Ann Wilson Hamner went home to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 25, 2011, at Flowers Hospital following an extended illness. She was 63.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew and Reverend Roger Stone officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, March 29, 2011, from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M.
Mrs. Hamner was born March 8, 1948 to Ray Frank Wilson and Annie Doris Kelly Wilson. On March 8, 1968, she married the love of her life, Douglas Wayne Hamner. She was employed at Harbin Jewelers up until the time of her illness. She really enjoyed meeting people and made many lasting friendships over the years that she worked there. Mrs. Hamner was a member of Salem Baptist Church. She cherished nothing more than spending time with her family. She was so happy with her role of being a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Most of all, she was so proud to be a child of God. Mrs. Hamner was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nas and Laura Wilson, Curtis and Lalar Kelley.
Mrs. Hamner leaves behind her parents, Ray Frank and Doris Wilson of Ozark;
her loving husband of 43 years, Douglas Hamner of Ozark;
three daughters and sons-in-law, Laticia and Steve Compton of Summerville, South Carolina, Regina and Randy Tolison of Ozark, and Allison Hamner of Ozark;
five grandchildren, Micah Compton of Summerville, SC, Ryan Compton of El Paso, TX, Ian Compton of Summerville, SC, Paityn Compton of Summerville, SC, and Cameron Hamner of Ozark; one great-granddaughter, Layla Grace McKinney of Summerville, SC.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3054 McGehee Road, Montgomery, Alabama 36111.
