Before dawn on Friday, April 23, 2010, Our Heavenly Father reached down and selected beautiful Elizabeth Feagin Shipman to dwell in his Kingdom.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, April 29, 2010, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Fred L. Flowers officiating. Interment will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday.<
Elizabeth was born September 5, 1927 to the late Nelson and Bessie Feagin. Sister Shipman grew up and graduated from high school in Ozark. During her early years, she united with St. Paul A. M. E. Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie C. Shipman; brother, Thomas Albert Martin; and sister, Lula Beamon.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two beautiful daughters, Barbara Shipman and Ann Shipman of Ozark, Alabama; three devoted sisters, Annie Britt of Lubbock, Texas, Mildred (Gayle) Justice of Worthington, West Virginia, and Mary Franklin of Roselle, New Jersey; a host of loving nieces and nephews; special extended family: Mayor Billy (Berta) Blackwell of Ozark, Betsey Blackwell of San Francisco, California, and Mary A. Boutin of Pensacola, Florida. Other relatives and friends also survive.
