Obituary of Myrtis Brannon Matthews

Mrs. Myrtis Brannon Matthews of Ozark, passed away Monday, November 18, 2013, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 23, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Todd Storks officiating. Private interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Friday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M.
Mrs. Matthews was born September 7, 1922, to the late Redic Warren Brannon and Pearl Fulford Brannon, and was a native of Newton. She was a member of Ozark Church of Christ. She worked with Dale County Civil Defense, and was a wonderful sitter with homebound patients until her health prohibited her from working. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil H. Matthews; one son, Larry C. Matthews; one sister, Maude Harden; and one brother, Harold Brannon.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Mark B. Matthews and Brett C. Matthews of California, and Jessica Matthews Bryan of New York;
six great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including Gerald Harden of Newton.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
