Obituary of David Arthur Cassens

Mr. David Cassens, age 63, of Ozark, died Saturday evening, March 31, 2007, at his home. Local funeral services will be 6:30 P. M. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Marty Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until service time at 6:30 P. M. Funeral services in Illinois will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 5, 2007, from Emanuel Lutheran Church in Compton, Illinois with Reverend Paul Darveau officiating.Holman Funeral Home of Ozark will be handling local arrangements. Mr. Cassens was born January 5, 1944 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in White Water. He served in the United States Marine Corps for four years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He then served as an executive with the Boy Scouts of America in Chicago. The past 25 years he has worked with Flight Safety in Daleville and Dothan as Director of Safety. He was an avid hunter and fly fisherman, and was a master wood craftsman. His passion was the love of flying and sailing. Survivors include his wife, Luanne Cassens of Ozark, one daughter, Jessica Cassens of Austin, Texas, two sisters and one brother-in-law, Audry Gee of South Milwaukee, and Mary Ann and Carl Sericati of West Allis, Wisconsin, one brother and sister-in-law, Russell and Ruth Cassens of Florence, Wisconsin, his special friend, Recon, his yellow lab, and many friends and co-workers.
