An old Friend posted a condolence
Thursday, October 10, 2013
My heart is saddened with the news of Steve's passing. I had known and loved Steve for many years. He was a special friend and a dear love to me when I was much, much younger and going through a difficult time. He was my first weightlifting coach who always believed in my abilities and taught me to believe in myself. I'll always remember Steve as a "BIG" old country boy who loved driving his truck down old country roads and power lifting in dirty, old, hardcore gyms. Lifting heavy weights was his thing, and NO ONE trained harder than Steve did. He was a gifted athlete and would share his knowledge and love of his sport with anyone who asked for it. He had a beautiful smile, a contagious laugh, and would do anything for his family and friends. God brought Steve into my life for a short time and I am grateful. I've thought of him often through the years and smile with laughter remembering our crazy youth. I've never met Steve's wife and children, but I'm sure he loved them well. I pray your suffering has now ended my dear lovely friend. May you rest in true peace and my God hold your family in his hands.

Liesel, Taylor and Brady, I am so sorry for your loss. I will miss seeing Steve at the gym. So sad to lose Steve after all the progress he had made since his stroke. I did not know Steve before his stroke, but he was a real inspiration to me in the gym because he kept on when others would have quit. Steve always had a kind word for everyone and if you motivated him with a lift he would give you a "thumbs up" and tell you "good lift man." Liesel, I do not know you, but please accept my condolences on your loss. Taylor, I don't know you, but I saw your picture in the newspaper a while back for an award and mentioned it to your Dad and he beamed with pride! Please know that I thought alot of your Dad. Brady, I met you in the gym with your Dad and as I recall you intend to lift a car by the time you graduate! That's a lofty goal, but your Dad would certainly think it is attainable! Again, I am so sorry for your loss, I will miss Steve too. Time will heal your pain and God's hand will comfort you during this tragic loss. We will remember you in our prayers. Sincerely yours, Jim

My wife Jane and I are praying for the Strength family and friends. We are deeply saddened to hear of your loss, but also rejoicing that Steve Is now at peace and is renewed, spending an eternity In heaven with our Lord and Savior. I remember meeting and talking with Steve when I was teaching Brady Taekwondo. I was always impressed with how much he loved his family and how he would do his best to come and support his children in their activities regardless of how tired or hurting he was. Please do call on us if there is anything we can do. (Rick 334-654-1717). We love you guys and pray that God gives you peace and comfort during this very difficult time.
