Mr. Lee R. Blalock, age 81, of Skipperville, died early Saturday morning, April 14, 2012, in Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Tuesday, April 17, 2012, from Concord Congregational Methodist Church with Pastor Scott Moffett officiating. Interment will follow with full Military Honors in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday in the church from 1:00 P. M. until service time. Mr. Blalock was born February 18, 1931 in Canton, Georgia to the late Roy John Blalock and Nealie Ophelia Cochram Blalock. He was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from the Army National Guard, and had worked at Fort Rucker with various aircraft maintenance contractors as a sheet metal specialist. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rossetta McDaris; and two brothers, Melvin Blalock and Cecil Blalock. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Tami and Glynn Welch of Skipperville; two grandchildren, Trent Etheredge of Echo and Ryan Welch of Skipperville; one great grandchild, Easton Welch; four sisters, Ruthie Lamanac, Jeanett Parker, Eva Pharr, and Ruby Watson; three brothers, Fred Blalock, Bobby Blalock, and Ben Blalock.
