Mrs. Dora Dean Owens McInnis, age 76, of Ozark, died early Thursday morning, February 26, 2009, at her home following a brave battle with Alzheimer's disease. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, February 28, 2009 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home of Ozark with Reverend Harry Circle officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Friday evening. Mrs. McInnis was born March 1, 1932 in Blue Mountain, near Anniston, Alabama, to the late Eli G. and Alma Goss Owens. She was an Army spouse and traveled throughout the United States and Europe with her husband. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Saxon of Anniston. Survivors include her husband of 46 years, John Thomas McInnis of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Carrie Robison of Anniston; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Wanda and Jan Latshaw of Midland City, Paula Allen of Ozark, and Carla and Joel Wiles of Iva, South Carolina; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Jewel Long, Joe and Walter Milecki, Melba and Larry Cate; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Dale Owens all of Anniston; eight grandchildren, Christopher Robison, Melissa Clark, Nicole Gauldin, Jennifer Latshaw, Shawn Latshaw, Ryan Outlaw, Megan Allen, Janel Outlaw. Six great grandchildren also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center, 126 Hospital Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or to you favorite charity.
