Obituary of Rolla Merle Parrish

Mrs. Rolla Merle Woodard Parrish, 85, of Ozark, died Sunday, April 21, 2013.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, April 25, 2013 from the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Dennis Tew officiating, interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, from 9:30 A. M. until service time. The family will be at the home of her daughter Teresa Starrak, 1204 E. Roy Parker Road.
Mrs. Parrish was born March 27, 1928 in Dale County to the late Floyd E. “Bud” Woodard and Sara “Toy” Tidwell Woodard. Mrs. Parrish worked at Alabama Farm Bureau until her retirement in 1969. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Jesse R. Parrish; and one brother, Garvin Woodard.
Survivors include three daughters, Teresa Starrak (Irvin); Deborah Bast of Ozark; and Lisa Gowan of Meridian MS. and her husband Kevin Gowan of Ozark;
one brother, Marvin E. Woodard (Carole) of Montgomery;
six grandchildren, Scott Simmons, Lessie Windham, Caitlin Jones, Eric Bast, Casey Gowan, and Kyle Bast;
three great grandchildren, Alex Enfinger, Jaxton Windham, and Rebekah Windham.
The family will accept flowers or contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Resource Center, PO Box 1170, Dothan, Al. 36302; or Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, Al. 36303.
