The late Oscar and Mattie Lemons Planted a seed and it sprouted on June 24, 1922 in Dale County, AL, thus beginning the Spring of life for Maurine Lemons. The early "Spring" of her life began with the experiencing of Jesus Christ in her life. She was baptized and joined Saint Paul Union Baptist Church, now the Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member who served as Chairperson of the Deaconess Board, President of the Senior Choir, a member of the Weekly Mission, Matrons and Ladies Aid Missionary Society. She attended the Pinckard Colored School until she reached the eighth grade. At the latter stage of her life, she attended George C. Wallace Junior College and received her GED. In the "Summer" of her life, Maurine married Joseph Clark in 1940. He preceded her in death. God blessed the union with thirteen children. God has many flowers to choose from in his garden, and He chose to pluck this rose and add it to His bouquet on August 11, 2009. She leaves to celebrate her loving life her thirteen children: Kenneth (Evelyn) Clark of Santa Maria, CA; Joseph (Bernice) Clark of Minot, ND; Ricky (Ellen) Clark of Union City, GA; Mattie Elaine Jones of Upper Marlboro, MD; David Odell (Barbara) Clark of Pinckard, AL; Jerry (JoAnn) Clark of Dothan, AL; Jewel (Peter) Gulley; Cordelia (Donald) Newman of Birmingham, AL; Maurice (Dorothy) Clark of Dothan,AL; Patsy (Gary) James of Midland City, AL; Lisa (Rufus) Cawthon of Ozark, AL; Darryl Clark of Emelle, AL; Mondesta (Juan) Ortiz of Daleville, AL; A brother-in-law, Luther C.
