Obituary of Martha Mullins Taylor

Mrs. Martha M. Mullins Taylor, age 90, of Ozark, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011, in Dale Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, November 18, 2011, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Members of the John Wesley Fellowship Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Mrs. Taylor was born June 13, 1921 in Elba, Alabama to the late Louis Pascal Mullins and Katherine Janie Leverette Mullins. She attended Elba City Schools, graduated from the University of Montevallo, and completed graduate studies at the University of Chicago. Mrs. Taylor worked with the State of Alabama as a Social Worker in Child Welfare. She married Victor Patrick Taylor, Jr. in 1945, and they remained married for 58 years until the time of his death. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, Women's Society of Christian Service, and the John Wesley Fellowship Class. Her favorite hobby was cooking. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Brooks and Patsy Pacinnis; and one brother, William H. Mullins. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Hugh and Karen Taylor of Ozark; three grandchildren, Michelle and Jim Bradley of Cuthbert, Georgia, Dr. Kristen Fuller of Mobile, Alabama, and Lauren Taylor of Columbus, Georgia; and one great grandson, Matt Bradley of Cuthbert, Georgia.
