Obituary of Charles E. Thomas

Mr. Charles E. Thomas, 87, of Daleville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, in Bill Nichols State Veterans Hospital in Alexander City, Alabama.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, August 2, 2013, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with United States Army Chaplain, Captain Tim Gresham officiating . Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery with Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 1:00 P. M. until service time.
Mr. Thomas was born April 24, 1926 in Bonneville, Wyoming. He was a highly decorated veteran of the United States Army in World War II, the Korean War, and the Viet Nam War, retiring following twenty-nine years of service. He received the Purple Heart for service in Korea. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Wilson Thomas and Irene Ellsworth Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Mae Stamps Thomas of Daleville;
three daughters, Karen Wilkerson of Dothan, Elaine Ellis of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Cheryl Thomley of Enterprise;
two sons Charles Thomas, Jr. of Daleville and Brian Thomas of Ozark.
Eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
