Obituary of Helen Palmer Rogers

Mrs. Helen Palmer Rogers, age 72, of Ozark, died Wednesday afternoon, September 15, 2010, at home with her family by her side. She fought the hardest year of her life battling cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, September 19, 2010, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Pastor Keener Batchelor officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Saturday. Mrs. Rogers was born August 27, 1938 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to the late James W. and Helen Powell Palmer. Her strength and pride will always be remembered by her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, Nana, aunt and sister. She will be dearly missed by all who were privileged enough to know this beautiful woman. We would like to thank our Uncle Ronald, her brother, for his unselfish commitment and love to our family during her illness. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Palmer. Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Billy Ray Rogers of Ozark; one daughter and her husband, Ronda and Robert Young of Ozark; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Ray, Jr. and Sharon of Nampa, Idaho, Garry Wayne and Gayla of Orangevale, California; Page two of two pages four brothers, Joe Palmer and Ronald Palmer of Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, Tommy Palmer and Bob Palmer of Ophir, California; eight grandchildren, Justy Rogers, Alicia Starmer, Stephanie Starmer-Metzger and husband David, Adam Starmer, Robbie Young, Kyndra Young, Rachelle (Eric) Underwood, and Rebekah Rogers; and special friends, Ralph and Ester Thomas. Six great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews also survive. Service Information
