Obituary of NANCY MULLINS DUMAS

Mrs. Dumas was a native of Newton, where she spent most of her life. She attended Newton Junior College and the University of Montevallo where she graduated with a degree in Secretarial Science in 1934. She was a member of the Newton United Methodist Church and served as treasurer and pianist for a number of years. She was also a member of the Official Board, the Board of Trustees, and the Parsonage Committee. She was employed as a secretary by Preferred Life Assurance Society in Montgomery for four years. In 1942 she returned to Newton and worked as an accountant in the Finance Division at Fort Rucker during World War II. She worked as auditor at the Houston Hotel in Dothan from 1948 until 1972 when the building was sold. She was preceded in death by a son, Walter Samuel Dumas, Jr. Service Information
