Obituary of James Earl Miller

Mr. James Earl Miller, age 68, of Dothan, died early Wednesday morning, May 4, 2005, in Flowers Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Friday, May 6, 2005 in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark with Reverend Dr. Lawson Bryan and Reverend Wayne Helms officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Thursday evening. Mr. Miller was born in Ozark, Alabama August 3, 1936 to the late Irene Cobb Miller and Charlie Preston Miller. He served in the United States Army, graduated from Troy State University, and worked with Sony for 17 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dothan, where he was a Sunday School teacher, a greeter, and worked with the Upper Room prayer line. Survivors include his wife, Judith Spear Miller, Dothan, two daughters, Sandy Nimmo, Daleville, and Terri Martin and her husband, David, Spanish Fort, Alabama, one son, Greg Miller and his wife, Susan, Jasper, Georgia, one stepson, Matt Plummer and his wife, Ashley, Daphne, Alabama, one brother, Billy Miller and his wife, Martha, Ozark, five grandchildren, Ryne Nimmo, Andrew Martin, Ellie Miller, Anna Martin, and Meredith Miller. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to First United Methodist Church of Dothan, Building Fund, 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
