Mr. Weed was a native and life-long resident of Ariton. He worked as a rural letter carrier for 28 years until his retirement in 1981. He was a charter member of the Ozark Chapter of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He was an active member of the Universalist Church until it closed, after which he attended Ariton United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmie Ray "Pops" Weed in 1992.
