Mr. Paul Cameron Mills, 90, of Hartford, Alabama died Friday morning, April 1, 2005, in Auburn, Alabama. Funeral services will be 2:30 P. M. Sunday, April 3, 2005 in the First United Methodist Church in Hartford with Reverend Jack Kale officiating. Interment will follow in Hartford City Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends in the Church from 2:00 P.M. Sunday until service time. Mr. Mills was born May 14, 1914 in Covington County, Alabama to the late Fannie Cameron Mills and Benjamin Mills. Mr. Mills was attending Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) when World War II began. He left school and joined the United States Army fought in the European side of the war in Belgian, France, and Germany. He was wounded in Belgian, recovered, and rejoined his unit. He was a Captain in the 31st Tank Division. Mr. Mills left the Army in 1945 and returned to Auburn, Alabama where he graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute and worked as a County Agent in Geneva County, Alabama. He married Nell Daughtry and they moved to Jacksonville, Florida where he worked with the Army Core of Engineers until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 52 years, Nell Daughtry Mills, one sister, Madilyn Mills Adams, and one brother, Joe Frank Mills. Survivors include two nieces, Marilyn A. Mosley and Carolyn Wilson, both of Auburn, Alabama, and one nephew, Benjamin Andrew Adams of Ridgecrest, California. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his memory to the Christian Education Fund, Hartford First United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 56, Hartford, Alabama 36344.
