Mrs. Vernell Segars Johnson, 88, of County Road 33, Skipperville, died Monday morning, October 25, 2004 following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 26, 2004, in Salem Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. Mrs. Johnson was born in Barbour County, moving to Skipperville at an early age, and lived there all her life. She was a member of the Salem Baptist Church for over 70 years. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her husband Ray Johnson in 1998. Survivors include one son, Don Johnson and his wife, Agnes, of Skipperville. Two granddaughters, Stephanie and Cathy Johnson of Skipperville also survive.
