Mr. Thomas L. Outlaw, age 66, of Shell Point, Florida, formerly of Dale County, Alabama, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006, in The Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania following a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, August 20, 2006, in the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home in Ozark, Alabama with Reverend Ben Amlong officiating, Holman Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Saturday, August 19, 2006. Mr. Outlaw was born September 10, 1939, in Ariton, Alabama in a one room log cabin which still stands today. He was an electrical engineer, working with GTE, Motorola, and Sprint. Among his many accomplishments, Mr. Outlaw served in the United States Navy and National Guard. He later received his Maritime Captain's License. Mr. Outlaw was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Mildred Tharp Outlaw and Roy Jacob Outlaw, and his son, Steven Outlaw. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Slaughter Outlaw of Shell Point, Florida, one son, Scott Outlaw of Ariton, Alabama, two step daughters, Taija Slaughter of Washington, D. C., and Kristina Petrandis and husband, Johnny of Tallahassee, Florida, one sister, Carolyn Outlaw of Webb, Alabama, two brothers, Curtis Wilton Outlaw and wife, Mavis of Ariton, and Carlton Outlaw of Ariton, three grandchildren, Ryan Outlaw, Janel Outlaw, and Strauss Outlaw.
