Obituary of Margie DuPriest Harper

Mrs. Margie DuPriest Harper, age 79, of Ozark, died Friday morning, June 30, 2006, at her home. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, July 2, 2006, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Aman and Reverend Bill Hix officiating. Private entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Harper's body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Sunday. Members of the Mary and Martha Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of Ozark Baptist Church from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Saturday afternoon. Mrs. Harper was born July 13, 1926 in Miami, Florida to the late Elizabeth Gregory DuPriest and Leslie DuPriest. She graduated from Tallassee High School in 1943 and married her high school sweetheart, Charlie Harper, in 1949. She and Charlie lived in various location in Alabama, moving to Ozark in 1963. Mrs. Harper was a member of Ozark Baptist Church where she was active in teaching Sunday school and training union. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union for many years. She was an avid Auburn fan, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charlie Harper. Survivors include her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Brightman and her husband, Bradford of Mobile, Alabama, her son, Johnny Harper and his wife, Sam of Milton, Florida, her sister, Virginia Ready and her husband, Earl of Tallassee, Alabama, her brother, Jack DuPriest and his wife, Jeanette of Tallassee, three grandchildren, Todd Brightman, Ryan Brightman, and Rob Harper. One great granddaughter, Mary Bradford, also survives. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360. Service Information
