Mr. Benjamin L. "Ben" Johnson, age 65, of Ozark, died July 21, 2006, in Flowers Hospital as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Monday, July 24, 2006, from the First United Methodist Church of Ozark with Reverend Dr. Christian Eckert and Reverend Roger Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mr. Johnson's body will be placed in the Church one hour prior to service time on Monday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P. M. Sunday afternoon. Mr. Johnson was born January 14, 1941 in Headland to the late Clara Louise Stevens Johnson and Buell Don Johnson, Sr. He attended Headland High School where he was active in sports, especially football. He attended Troy University, and had worked with I. B. M. for over 37 years as a Customer Engineer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a faithful Auburn fan, an avid homebuilder, and enjoyed working in his yard. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Susanne Holman Patterson Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Debra Johnson of Ozark, one daughter, Lynn Miller and her husband, Roger of Elba, two sons, Brandon Buell Johnson and his wife, Christi of Auburn, and Robert Johnson of Chicago, Illinois, one sister, Sara Skipper and her husband, Jimmy of Newton, one brother, Don Johnson and his wife, Nan of Headland, four grandchildren, Stephanie Miller, Josh Miller, Nathan Miller, and Julia Johnson, two aunts, Ruby Stevens of Birmingham and Jean Stevens of Dothan, one uncle, Billie Stevens and his wife, Jackie of Dothan. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, 167 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
