Obituary of Reliford David Jackson

Mr. Reliford David Jackson, age 91, of Ozark, died Tuesday morning, December 5, 2006, at his home following an extended illness. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Thursday, December 7, 2006, from Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery with Masonic Rites, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the Church Thursday from 12:30 P. M. until service time at 2:00 P. M. Mr. Jackson was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County where he was engaged in farming. He was the son of the late Ada Phillips Jackson and Jesse Amariah Jackson. He was a member of the Clinton Masonic Lodge #287 at Skipperville, an honorary lifetime director in the Alabama Farmers Federation, and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Susie Frances Miller Jackson, and a son, David Alvin Jackson. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Bethene and Earl Childree of Ozark, one son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Hilda Jackson of Dale County, Alabama, three grandchildren, Winston Jackson Deloney, David Ryan Childree, and Phillip E. Childree, three great grandchildren, Kara A. Deloney, Kaile M. Deloney, and Christin N. Childree. Also surviving are his devoted caregivers Vivian Dorrill, Nathalee Thornton, and Linda Thompson.
